MAT 2022: Exam Dates (Out), Registration, Cutoff, Eligibility & more!

All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts Management Aptitude Test, popularly known as the MAT exam, four times a year for admission to around 600 B-schools across India. MAT exam 2022 is a national-level MBA entrance test conducted in February, May, September, and December. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria for the MAT exam 2022 before filling out the application form. MAT exam 2022 is normally conducted in three modes –

MAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria

AIMA has prescribed the MAT 2022 eligibility criteria for the candidates who will appear for the MAT examination. MAT eligibility criteria comprise the academic qualifications, age limit, and nationality, which the candidates must check before filling out the application form. The MAT eligibility criteria for 2022 are the same for IBT modes.

  1. As per the MAT eligibility criteria 2022, a candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized institute or university to apply for the examination.
  2. Even final year graduation students from any stream can apply for the exam. AIMA hasn’t mentioned any age limit for the exam.
  3. Interestingly, one can appear for the exam as many times as possible.
  4. There is no specific age limit for MAT 2022.

MAT 2022 Important Dates

MAT Exam 2022: AIMA has released MAT 2022 admit card for PBT & CBT mode for the May session online. Earlier, authorities started the MAT 2022 registration for May session PBT and IBT modes on March 29 in an online way. The last date to fill MAT 2022 application form for PBT/ CBT- I was extended to May 10, and for PBT/ CBT-II, the last date of registration is May 23. MAT 2022 IBT registration will continue till May 26 for various slots. Candidates can fill out the MAT application form 2022 at the official website – mat.aima.in.

MAT 2022 Application Process

All India Management Association (AIMA) commenced the MAT exam registration for IBT/ PBT/CBT mode for the May session on March 29. As per the schedule, the last date for MAT registration 2022 for PBT and CBT schedule 1 is extended till May 10, while for PBT/CBT schedule 2, it is May 23. For IBT mode, AIMA will close the MAT 2022 registration window for IBT on May 26.

What to keep ready before filling out the MAT 2022 application form?

  2. Scanned photograph in jpg/jpeg format with size not more than 100 KB and not less than 40 KB
  3. Scanned signature in jpg/jpeg format with size not more than 40 KB and not less than 10KB

How to fill out MAT Application form 2022:

  1. Register by providing the necessary details.  
  2. Login using your email, password, and date of birth, and click on the “Submit” button.
  3. Fill Registration Form & Choices for Management Institutes(MI).
  4. Candidates can select as many MIs to pay an additional fee of Rs 118.
  5. Upload Photo and Signature – photograph (20KB to 150 KB) and signature (20KB to 150 KB)
  6. Make Payment of registration fee through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking.
  7. View/Download Registration form and take printout
  8. Update details if required. After downloading and reviewing the registration form, the candidate can edit a few specific details.

MAT 2022 Admit Card

AIMA has released the MAT PBT and CBT admit card for phase 1 on May 12. AIMA will release the MAT phase 2 admit card on May 25. For IBT mode, the admit card is available from May 12 to May 27, 2022. Students can download the MAT exam admit card by entering their registration number and date of birth. AIMA will not send the hard copy of the admit card to any candidate.

How to download MAT Admit Card 2022 (CBT/ PBT/ IBT Mode):

Follow the steps below to download the admit card:

  • Open the official website -mat.aima.in.
  • Click on the “Download/ View –> MAT Admit Card” link on the menu bar.
  • Enter your Registration Number, Date of birth.
  • Click on the tab ‘Submit’ button.
  • Admit card for the MAT exam will appear on the screen.
  • Download it as a PDF file, then take a printout and keep it safe.

MAT 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes). Each section has 40 questions, and each question carries 1 mark. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. Candidates are advised to strategize their preparation as per the exam pattern of MAT 2022. It will allow them to score better in the exam.

MAT 2022 Result

AIMA will declare the MAT result 2022 for the February session online anytime soon. Candidates can check the MAT result on the official website -mat.aima.in. All test takers must enter their Registration number and Roll Number to check and download the MAT result 2022 for the February session from the official website. AIMA does not send any copy of the result through email and post to the candidates. MAT score is valid for one year. More than 600 B-schools across India accept MAT scores for their admission process. Candidates are shortlisted first based on their MAT score and called for the selection procedure – Writing test, GD, and PI. The selection rounds may differ from institute to institute.

  • Go to the official website of AIMA.
  • Search and click on the “MAT results” button.
  • Choose the session of the test.
  • Enter your registration number and form number.
  • View the MAT scorecard by clicking on the submit button.
  • The result will appear on the desktop/mobile/ laptop screen.

MAT 2022 Cutoff

The MAT 2022 cut off can either be in the form of percentile or marks. The cutoff depends on various factors, including the Difficulty level of the test, the total number of test-takers, the total number of seats offered by an institute, etc. The cutoff score ranges from 250 to 700 vary from institute to institute.
