Vijayawada, September 26, 2026: Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh has issued a notice debarring a total of 172 candidates from participating in the AP State Counselling for NEET (PG) 2026-27, under two separate categories of ineligibility.

Background

The university informed that the AP State Counselling for NEET (PG)–2025 conducted two Stray Vacancy Rounds, with the condition that candidates allotted a seat in these rounds but who failed to report to their allotted college would be debarred from admission to Medical Colleges in Andhra Pradesh for one academic year (2026-27).

Further, as per G.O.Ms.No.67, dated April 21, 2017, candidates who discontinue their course after joining are barred from participating in the State Counselling process - both Competent Authority Quota (CQ) and Management Quota (MQ) - for a period of three years from the date of issue of the discontinuance letter.

Category A: 21 Candidates - Stray Vacancy Round Seat Not Reported

A total of 21 candidates who were allotted seats in the Stray Vacancy Rounds of PG Medical Counselling 2025-26 under CQ/MQ but did not report to their allotted colleges have been declared ineligible to participate in AP State Counselling (CQ & MQ) for NEET (PG) 2026-27.

These candidates' NEET ranks in the "Not Reported" list range from 17,463 to 199,587, spanning both CQ Stray and MQ Stray categories. The university has clarified that if any candidate from this list applies for NEET PG-2026 counseling in AP, their application will be summarily rejected before the display of the Final Merit List.

Category B: 151 Candidates - Course Discontinuation

A total of 151 candidates who discontinued their PG courses between July 22, 2023, and the present date have also been declared ineligible to participate in the AP State Counselling for NEET (PG) 2026-27 under CQ & MQ, as per G.O.Ms.No.67.

This list spans discontinuations across academic years 2013-14 to 2025-26, covering a wide range of specialties including General Surgery, Pathology, Community Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Anaesthesiology, Radio Diagnosis, Paediatrics, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Orthopaedics, and Psychiatry, across major AP medical colleges such as Andhra Medical College (Visakhapatnam), Guntur Medical College, Kurnool Medical College, Rangaraya Medical College (Kakinada), S.V. Medical College (Tirupati), and others.

The university has similarly clarified that any candidate from this list applying for NEET PG-2026 counseling in AP will have their application summarily rejected before the Final Merit List is displayed.
