Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTRUHS), Vijayawada, has issued an important notice for candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses under the Management Quota for the NRI/NRI Lapsed Category for the academic year 2026-27. The notice is dated September 26, 2026.

According to the notice, some candidates have applied under both NRI Quota and NRI Lapsed Category. The university has clarified how such candidates will be considered based on their eligibility and document verification.

AP MBBS/BDS NRI & NRI Lapsed Category Notice 2026-27

Candidates who have opted for both the NRI Quota and NRI Lapsed Category will be considered for NRI Category seats only if they are found eligible for the NRI category after verification of their uploaded documents.

Candidates who are found ineligible for NRI Category seats due to non-submission of the required documents may be considered for NRI Lapsed Category seats in Phase-III (Mop-Up) or subsequent counselling phases, subject to re-uploading the required notarized affidavit as per the university notification.

Upload Facility for NRI/NRI Lapsed Category

The university has also stated that the facility to upload documents for either the NRI Category or NRI Lapsed Category will be allowed after Phase-I/Phase-II allotments for the current academic year.

The university clarified that this provision has been allowed due to the delay in the release of the Management Quota NRI counselling procedure by the Government. It will not be treated as a precedent for future years or for Competent Authority Quota counselling.

Eligible candidates are advised to regularly check the official university website for further updates. In case of any grievance, candidates can raise a ticket through their login ID as per the schedule notified by the university.
