The Office of the Director of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has extended the last date of online registration for the 1st round of counselling for Post Graduate seats in 2026. The counselling covers 50% PG seats in Government Medical Colleges of Assam and B.B.C.I., Guwahati, under the Assam State Quota.

The educational notice was issued from Guwahati on 26 October 2026 (Notice No. DME/PG/2026/855656/1638). It continues the Directorate’s earlier notice dated 16 October 2026 (No. DME/PG/2026/855656).

Revised Schedule for Round 1

• Online registration for 1st round of counselling: extended up to 28 October 2026, 11:59 PM
• Online filling of choices: 29 October 2026 to 30 October 2026 (5 PM)
• Online locking of choices: 30 October 2026, 4 PM to 11:55 PM
• Processing of seat allotment: 31 October 2026 to 1 November 2026
• Result: 2 November 2026
• Reporting/joining: 9 November 2026 to 10 November 2026

What Candidates Should Know

• Online choice filling will be available only after the online registration process is complete.
• Choices will be locked automatically after the locking window if the candidate has not locked them earlier.
• After seat allotment is processed, a college-wise and subject-wise list of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed on 2 November 2026, along with the modalities of admission.
• Selected candidates must get admitted in the allotted institutions between 9 November and 10 November 2026.
