Dr. Barath Kumar secures 9th rank in NEET PG 2025.
Coimbatore: The District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar and the District Revenue Officer M. Sharmila felicitated Dr. G. Barath Kumar from Annur for achieving the all-India 9th rank in NEET PG 2025, on August 12.

Dr. Barath Kumar’s Path to Success
Dr. Barath shared that he considers NEET not as a competition, but as an opportunity to grow. During his UG NEET, he had secured a rank above 3,000 and gained admission under the government quota. After completing his internship in 2024, he appeared for NEET PG for the first time in August and obtained the 6,947th rank, which was not enough for his preferred course. Later, in the INI-CET exam held in November, he secured the 1,357th rank, but most seats had already been taken by top scorers. And then he dedicated the next six months solely to preparation, which helped him secure this remarkable result.
Dr. Barath also stressed the importance of government-run PG NEET coaching centres, noting that such facilities would support students from economically weaker backgrounds in pursuing higher studies and specialisations.
District’s Pride and Support
Collector Giriyappanavar praised his achievement, calling it a proud moment for Coimbatore district. He further assured that the district administration will encourage more students to pursue postgraduate medical studies and will also take steps to provide free PG NEET coaching facilities in the future.
