Vijayawada, September 23, 2026: Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTR UHS), Vijayawada, has issued a notification permitting Phase-I reported/joined BDS candidates under the Competent Authority Quota to exit their allotted seats through a "Free Exit" facility.

Key Highlights

• Deadline to Apply: Candidates who have reported or joined a college in Phase-I can submit their Free Exit request to their respective College Principal on or before 4:00 PM on September 23, 2026.
• Data Freeze: Principals must accept exit applications, return original certificates and refund the entire tuition and other fees, and freeze the updated seat data by 5:00 PM on September 23, 2026.
• No Further Withdrawal: After this deadline, no candidate will be permitted to withdraw from a joined seat during Phase-I counselling.
• Eligibility Impact: Candidates availing Free Exit will lose eligibility for further rounds of Competent Authority Quota counselling, though they remain eligible to join Minority Quota (MQ) Phase-I of Dr. NTR UHS if allotted a seat there.
• Not Reported/Not Joined Status: Candidates who resign before the deadline will be treated as "not reported/not joined," and their seats will be filled during Phase-II counselling.
• Post-Deadline Rules: All Phase-I reported/joined candidates who do not opt for Free Exit will automatically become part of Phase-II and will be governed by Phase-II counselling rules.
• Web Options for Phase-II: Phase-I reported candidates who choose not to exit can exercise Web Options for Phase-II as per their priority order. Candidates who did not report to their Phase-I allotted college can exercise Web Options for all other colleges (excluding the one they did not join).
• No Mid-Course Resignation: Candidates who skip the Free Exit window cannot resign their seat from Phase-III counselling until the closure of admissions.
• Working Days Note: All public holidays during this period will be treated as working days.

Candidates seeking to avail this facility must submit the prescribed application form - including candidate details, NEET UG-2026 rank/roll number, and reasons for exit - to their college Principal within the stipulated time.
