Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh, has released the tentative admission schedule for centralized counselling for MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses for the 2026 academic session. The schedule covers admissions under the UT Pool, reserved categories and NRI/Foreign Indian Student quota.

Prospectus and Online Application

The GMCH prospectus will be made available online in PDF format from August 8, 2026. Candidates can submit their applications online from August 8 to August 13, 2026, up to 5:30 PM.

The deadline for submitting the online application form and prescribed fee is August 13, 2026, by 5:30 PM. The deadline applies to all candidates, including Foreign Indian Students and NRI applicants.

Provisional Eligibility List and Document Correction

GMCH will publish the provisional eligibility list, including category-wise details and information on deficient documents or discrepancies, on August 15, 2026.

Candidates whose applications contain deficiencies will be required to submit the necessary documents by August 18, 2026, up to 5:30 PM. The final category-wise list of provisionally eligible candidates is also scheduled to be displayed on August 18.

First Counselling Schedule

The first round of centralized counselling will be conducted at the E Block (Academic Block), Government Medical College, Sector 32-A, Chandigarh.

Second Counselling and Further Rounds

The schedule for the second counselling round, mop-up round, commencement of the academic session and the last date for joining will be announced separately by GMCH Chandigarh.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates appearing for counselling should carefully follow the instructions issued by GMCH. They must:

• Bring original certificates and documents for verification and submission during counselling.
• Carry a separate copy of the submitted online application form for each course applied for.
• Bring self-attested copies of all required certificates and documents.
• Note that hard copies of the online application form do not need to be submitted before scrutiny or counselling.

GMCH Chandigarh has clarified that the admission schedule is tentative and may be revised by the competent authority, the National Medical Commission (NMC), or the courts. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official GMCH website for the latest updates and any changes to the counselling schedule.
