The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Education Courses (ACPUGMEC), Government of Gujarat, has released the Medical Seat Matrix for the 2026–27 academic session. The seat matrix provides the intake and category-wise distribution of MBBS seats across Government, Self-Financed (SFI) and GMERS Medical Colleges in Gujarat.

As per the released seat matrix, the total MBBS intake is 7,500 seats. These include seats under AIQ, Management Quota (MQ), NRI Quota and Government Quota, with category-wise distribution under SC, ST, SEBC, EWS and Open categories.

Category-wise Seat Distribution

The matrix covers major Government medical colleges including B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad; Government Medical College, Surat; Shri M. P. Shah Government Medical College, Jamnagar, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College, Rajkot, Government Medical College, Bhavnagar and Government Medical College, Vadodara, along with SFI and GMERS medical colleges.

The document also includes a separate PwD seat matrix for medical colleges. The listed PwD distribution includes seats under SC, ST, SEBC, EWS and Open categories.

Important Note for NRI Seats

ACPUGMEC has clarified that if NRI seats remain vacant, they will be filled as Management Quota seats with Management Quota fees. The notice specifically states that GMERS Medical Colleges and Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhuj, do not have Management Quota seats but have NRI seats; vacant NRI seats in these institutes will also be filled as Management Quota seats with Management Quota fees.
