The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB), Ranchi, has released the schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round of online counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses under NEET UG 2026. The press communique (Advt. No. JCECEB/46/26-116) is dated 03/11/2026. It follows the direction issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), New Delhi, on 02.11.2026 regarding the NEET UG 2026 schedule for the special stray vacancy round of state counselling.
The Board will hold counselling for vacant State and All India seats in three separate categories, as given below.
1. State Quota Seats: BDS and BHMS
- Display of vacant seat matrix: 03.11.2026
- Online application form submission by new candidates: 03.11.2026 to 05.11.2026
- Publication of state merit list for special stray vacancy round: 06.11.2026
- Starting date of choice filling by registered candidates: 06.11.2026
- Last date of choice filling: 09.11.2026
- Issue of provisional seat allotment letter: 10.11.2026 to 16.11.2026
- Certificate/document verification and admission in the concerned institute: 11.11.2026 to 16.11.2026
Vacant seats under different categories in the state quota in the BDS course will be exchanged in this counselling, as per the provisions of the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasa, Govt. of Jharkhand. This applies if reserved category candidates are not available.
2. All India Seats: MBBS
Special stray vacancy round counselling is being held for vacant All India seats in MBBS at the following colleges. This follows the direction of the Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of Jharkhand (Letter No. 09/Namankan/02-05/2017-381 (9) dated 13.10.2025).

- Birsa Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Khunti

This is as per letters No. 08/Dant-07-01/2025-190 (8) dated 14.08.2025 and No. 08/Dant-07-08/2026-286 (8) dated 12.10.2026 of the Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare Department.

Important Instructions
- Candidates whose names are in the State Merit List/Merit List released on 19.10.2026 do not need to submit an online application again.
- Counselling will be held as per the guidelines of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. If the guidelines change, counselling dates and other terms and conditions will be notified accordingly.
