The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released an important advisory for candidates ahead of the State Merit List-based online counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses. As per the notice, all eligible aspirants are advised to get their Category, Income & Assets, and PwD certificates, along with their Aadhaar Card, updated well before the counselling process begins.
Through Letter No. J.C.E.C.E.B/46/26, the Board has clarified the document requirements for candidates applying under reserved categories and PwD quota, to avoid discrepancies, grievances, rejection or cancellation of applications at a later stage. JCECEB Advisory: Key Requirements
Before discussing the counselling procedure, here is what the JCECEB advisory requires candidates to check:
1. Category or Income & Assets Certificate Candidates belonging to ST, SC, BCI (NCL), BCII (NCL) categories, and those applying under EWS, must get their Category or Income & Assets certificates updated. These must be issued by an officer not below the rank of Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of the Jharkhand state.
2. PwD Certificate Candidates applying under the PwD category must ensure their certificates are updated. For Deafness and Hard of Hearing disability specifically, only certificates issued by RIMS, Ranchi or Civil Surgeon, Deoghar (on the report of AIIMS, Deoghar) will be considered valid.
3. Aadhaar Card All candidates must ensure their Aadhaar Card is accurate, valid and duly updated in all respects, with no discrepancy in Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Photograph, Address or Biometric Information.

JCECEB conducts counselling for MBBS, BDS and BHMS admissions in Jharkhand based on the State Merit List, prepared using NEET (UG) 2026 scores.
