The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released a revised schedule for the stray vacancy round of online counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses. The press communique (Advt. No. JCECEB/46/26-98) is dated 14 October 2026. It follows the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) direction of 14 September 2026 on the NEET-UG 2026 schedule for the stray vacancy round of state counselling. The Board will fill vacant State and All India seats in this round.

Jharkhand Stray Vacancy Round 2026: Revised Dates

Vacant State Quota seats (MBBS, BDS and BHMS):

• Online application by new candidates: 14 October 2026 to 16 October 2026, up to 9:00 AM (earlier 28 to 29 September 2026)
• Display of vacant seat matrix: 15 October 2026 (earlier 2 October)
• Editing of application form by registered candidates: 16 October 2026, from 9:01 AM to 12:00 noon (earlier 30 September)
• Publication of State Merit List for stray vacancy round: 17 October 2026 (earlier 2 October)
• Start of choice filling: 17 October 2026 (earlier 3 October)
• Last date of choice filling: 19 October 2026, up to 6:00 PM (earlier 4 October, up to 5:00 PM)
• Editing in filled-up choices, if needed: 19 October 2026, from 6:01 PM to 12:00 midnight
• Issue of provisional seat allotment letter: 21 October 2026 to 26 October 2026 (earlier 5 to 10 October)
• Certificate/document verification and admission at the institute: 22 October 2026 to 26 October 2026 (earlier 6 to 10 October)

Stray Round for All India Seats in MBBS

The Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand, has directed that the remaining seats (except State Quota) in MBBS, after rounds 1, 2 and 3, will be treated as All India seats. These seats will be filled online from the All India Merit List.

The stray round for these seats will be held in the following colleges:

• Laxmi Chandravansi Medical College & Hospital, Palamu
• Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital, Seraikela-Kharsawan
• Sido Kanhu Medical College & Hospital, Dumka
• Birsa Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Khunti

Stray Round for All India Seats in BDS

The same direction applies to the remaining BDS seats (except State Quota) at Vananchal Dental College and Hospital, Garhwa, under Babu Dinesh Singh University, Garhwa. The Department has also directed that 50% of BDS seats at Awadh Dental College & Hospital, Jamshedpur will be filled from the All India Merit List based on the NEET (UG) 2026 result, as per a letter dated 12 October 2026.

The schedule for the MBBS and BDS All India seats is the same as the State Quota schedule above:

• Application by new candidates: 14 to 16 October 2026
• Display of vacant seat matrix: 15 October 2026
• Merit list for stray vacancy round: 17 October 2026
• Choice filling: 17 October to 19 October 2026
• Provisional seat allotment letter: 21 to 26 October 2026
• Document verification and admission: 22 to 26 October 2026

Other Key Points

• Candidates whose names are in the State Merit List released on 26 September 2026 do not need to apply online again.
• Vacant State Quota BDS seats in different categories will be exchanged in the stray round as per the provisions of the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasa, Government of Jharkhand, if reserved category candidates are not available.
• The earlier advertisements, Nos. JCECEB/46/26-47 (6 August 2026), JCECEB/46/26-52 and JCECEB/46/26-53 (both 8 August 2026), are modified to this extent. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
