The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the provisional results of the third round seat allotment for admission to medical and dental courses under UGNEET-2026. The notice (No. ED/KEA/ADMN/CR-11/2026) is dated October 3, 2026. The allotment was done on the basis of merit and the options entered by candidates. Candidates can now exercise Choice-4 or cancel their seat. The last date is October 5, 2026, at 12:00 noon.

Choice-4 and Seat Cancellation Rules

Candidates allotted seats in both MCC and KEA counselling

  • If you want to take admission to the seat allotted in the third round of MCC counselling, you can exit the KEA process by selecting Choice-4.
  • There is no penalty for Choice-4.
  • Select Choice-4 through the link on the KEA website on or before October 5, 2026, 12:00 noon.

Candidates who have already reported to a college in KEA Round 1 or Round 2

Study MBBS Abroad 2025-26, Fees 2 lakh Per Year.

  • If you want to take the seat allotted in the third round of MCC counselling, you can cancel your KEA seat.
  • A penalty of Rs 10,000 applies.
  • The last date is October 5, 2026, 12:00 noon.

Candidates allotted seats in the third round of other states, or not interested in the KEA Round 3 seat

  • You can cancel the KEA allotted seat by paying a penalty of Rs 10,000.
  • The last date is October 5, 2026, 12:00 noon.

Consequence of exiting KEA counselling

  • Candidates who exit under any of the three options above will not be eligible for the next rounds conducted by KEA.

Candidates Who Want to Keep the KEA Round 3 Seat

  • This applies to candidates who joined a college in MCC Round 1 or Round 2, were allotted a seat in MCC Round 3 and also got a KEA Round 3 seat.
  • If you want to keep the KEA Round 3 seat without opting out of KEA counselling, send an email to keauthority-ka@nic.in.
  • Use the subject line "Confirmation of My KEA Seat".
  • Mention your CET number, name and rank in the email.
  • Send the email on or before October 5, 2026, 12:00 noon.

What Happens Next: Re-run of Round 3 Allotment

  • KEA will re-run the third round seat allotment for medical and dental courses. This will use the seats cancelled through Choice-4, because those candidates took MCC or other state seats.
  • The re-run will be based on the options already entered by candidates. No changes to existing options will be allowed.
  • The new third round provisional results will then be published. Candidates will be considered for upgradation to higher-order option seats, subject to seat availability and allotment rules.
  • After the new provisional results are announced, Choice-4 and cancellation will not be available.
  • The third round final results will be published after that.

Penalty for Surrendering a Seat After the Final Results

  • If you surrender a seat after the third round final results, but before the last date for entering options for the stray vacancy round, the penalty is:
    • Rs 1,10,000 for medical seats
    • Rs 60,000 for dental seats
  • Requests to surrender a seat after the last date for stray vacancy round options will not be entertained.
  • Candidates who do so cannot take part in counselling for the next three years. MCC will also be informed.

Important Warning from KEA

  • KEA says that not wanting the allotted college or course, or leaving the college after joining, is a serious lapse in social responsibility, as other candidates are waiting for seats.
