The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has issued an important notice easing fee-payment norms for candidates admitted to Health Science courses through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP), amid concerns over Demand Draft (DD) availability due to the weekend and an upcoming bank strike.

Admission Window

Candidates selected through CAP are required to report and join their allotted colleges between 26 September 2026 and 30 September 2026. Since admission fees are payable to colleges via DD, many candidates flagged difficulty in arranging DDs during this period.

Alternative Payment Options Allowed

To ensure no candidate is denied admission due to DD unavailability, the CET Cell has clarified the following:

1. Private banks will remain operational during the strike period, and candidates can use their services to prepare a DD.
2. Public sector banks will function on Sunday, 27 September 2026 — candidates are advised to use this day specifically to get their DD made.
3. Candidates may also pay fees through NEFT, RTGS, UPI, or other online payment modes.
4. If a DD cannot be arranged, fees may be paid by cheque. However, the cheque must be replaced with a DD on the next working day, or the college will deposit it directly. A dishonoured cheque may lead to cancellation of admission.
5. DD or online payment should be used wherever possible; cheque payment is only a last resort, and must still be followed by a DD on the next working day. Candidates should note that 1 October 2026 is a working day for this purpose.
6. Colleges have been directed not to deny admission to any candidate solely due to non-availability of a DD, and must accept the alternative payment modes listed above.
