The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has issued Notice No. 27, dated 16 October 2026. It gives the revised schedule for the online stray vacancy rounds for MBBS and BDS (Group A) courses for the academic year 2026-27. The notice follows Notice No. 26 of 15 October 2026.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has already announced its own stray vacancy round schedule. The AIQ list will be published on 19 October 2026, and the last date of joining is 26 October 2026. To fit multiple state rounds into that window, the CET Cell has compressed the state schedule. The rounds cover vacant seats in government, corporation, government aided, private unaided and minority colleges.

Revised schedule

• 16 October 2026: Publication of the seat matrix for Online Stray Vacancy Round 1.
• 17 to 18 October 2026 (till 11.59 pm): Online choice filling for Stray Vacancy Round 1. Filling choices is mandatory, and choices filled during CAP Round 3 are null and void.
• 19 October 2026: Selection list for Stray Vacancy Round 1.
• 20 to 21 October 2026 (till 5.30 pm): Physical joining at the allotted college with all original documents and fees. Fees can be paid by DD or NEFT/RTGS.
• 21 October 2026 (till 5.30 pm): Last date to resign the seat without penalty. Any cancellation after this date will attract a penalty as per the Information Brochure.
• 21 to 22 October 2026 (till 11.00 am): Seat matrix display and choice filling for Stray Vacancy Round 2. Round 1 choices become null and void.
• 22 October 2026: Selection list for Stray Vacancy Round 2.
• 23 to 24 October 2026 (till 5.30 pm): Physical joining for Round 2 allotments.
• 24 to 25 October 2026 (till 11.00 am): Seat matrix display and choice filling for Stray Vacancy Round 3. Round 1 and Round 2 choices become null and void.
• 25 October 2026: Selection list for Stray Vacancy Round 3.
• 26 October 2026: Physical joining for Round 3 allotments.
• 26 October 2026: Last date of joining as per MCC.

Who is eligible

• NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates who registered and filled the online preference form earlier but were not allotted a seat up to CAP Round 3.
• Candidates must also meet the eligibility conditions in clause 4 of the Information Brochure.

Who is not eligible

• Candidates who joined a seat in Round 1 or Round 2, still hold a seat up to Round 3, and were freshly allotted a seat in Round 3 of state counselling.
• Candidates who joined and still hold a seat up to Round 3 of the All India Quota process.
• Candidates who were allotted a seat in stray vacancy Round 1, who cannot take part in any further stray vacancy rounds.
• Candidates who were allotted a seat in the stray vacancy round of the All India Quota.

Key instructions for candidates

• No new registration will be done for the stray vacancy rounds.
• Fresh choices must be filled for each stray vacancy round separately, and Round 3 choices will not count.
• Choices can be edited any number of times within the schedule, but no changes are allowed once it closes.
• Joining the seat allotted in a stray vacancy round is mandatory, so fill only the choices where you actually want admission.
• All participating institutes have been directed to treat Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays as working days.
• The schedule is subject to change as per directions from MCC, NDC, the Central Government, the State Government or the courts.
