The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that registration for the stray vacancy round of NEET UG counselling 2026 will begin on 13 October 2026. The update appears in the “Latest News” section of the UG Medical Counselling page on the official MCC website. It says registration for the stray vacancy round will be available from the next day, i.e. 13.10.2026.

What is the MCC stray vacancy round?

The stray vacancy round is the last round of MCC UG counselling. It fills MBBS, BDS and other UG medical seats that stay vacant after the regular rounds. Seats usually fall vacant when allotted candidates do not join, resign from their seats, or leave the process. MCC offers these seats again through this round so that they do not go unfilled.
