The Directorate of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Meghalaya, has invited online applications for 1st-year MBBS admission at P.A. Sangma International Medical College & Hospital (PIMC), Baridua, Ri-Bhoi, for the academic session 2026–27. Admissions will be offered under the State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota.

150 MBBS Seats Available

P.A. Sangma International Medical College has 150 MBBS seats for the 2026–27 academic session:

State Quota Reservation

Of the 64 State Quota seats, 26 seats are earmarked for Khasi & Jaintia candidates, 26 for Garo candidates, 9 for the Unreserved category and 3 for SC/OST candidates. The applicable PwBD provisions are included within these categories.

NEET UG 2026 Qualifying Criteria

Candidates must qualify NEET UG 2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The notification specifies the following qualifying criteria:

Eligibility Criteria

For State Quota seats, candidates must belong to the eligible Meghalaya SC/ST/OST categories with a valid certificate or, in the case of eligible General candidates, possess a Meghalaya Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC).

Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and secured at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology for General candidates and 40% for ST/SC/OST candidates. Candidates must also be declared qualified in NEET UG 2026.

For Management Quota, applicants must be Indian citizens and meet the prescribed academic and NEET UG eligibility requirements.

For NRI Quota, applicants must provide an NRI certificate issued by the Indian Diplomatic Mission in their country of residence. Admissions under this quota will follow the applicable MCC guidelines.

Candidates must be at least 17 years old by 31 December of the admission year and must meet the prescribed medical fitness requirements.

*SC, OST and ST candidates are exempt from the State Quota application fee.

Counselling & Document Verification

Counselling for State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota seats will be conducted by the Meghalaya State Counselling Authority for Medical Education (MSCAME). Seat allotment will be based on NEET merit and applicable reservation criteria.

Candidates must produce original documents during verification, including their NEET UG 2026 scorecard and admit card, Class 10 and 12 certificates, age proof, domicile/PRC certificate, applicable caste certificate and photographs. NRI candidates must additionally provide passport and visa details, sponsorship documents, relationship document and prescribed affidavits.

As per the stated MCC guidelines, candidates choosing Freeze must physically report to the institution to complete admission formalities, while candidates choosing Float can retain their allotted seat and remain eligible for upgradation in subsequent rounds.

Important Note for Candidates

Candidates are advised to enter all application details carefully and ensure that the information and documents submitted are accurate. Submission of false or fabricated information can lead to cancellation of admission, a three-year debarment from State Quota admissions and possible legal action.
