NTA Issues Advisory on Biometric Exceptions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a public notice regarding biometric verification for the NEET UG 2026 scheduled on May 3, 2026. As per the advisory, biometric authentication remains mandatory for all candidates before entering the examination hall.

However, in cases where biometric verification cannot be completed due to technical issues, poor data quality, or physical limitations, candidates will still be allowed to appear for the exam. Such candidates must submit a written undertaking at the exam centre in the prescribed format.

The NTA also clarified that candidates will not be disturbed during the examination hours (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, or up to 6:00 PM for PwD candidates) for biometric procedures, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted test experience.
