New Delhi: More than 2.42 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET-PG 2025 examination on Sunday. The exam, conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), is the gateway for admission to postgraduate medical courses such as MD, MS, and PG Diploma.

The computer-based test was held in a single shift across 1,052 centres in 301 cities, making it the largest single-shift computer-based medical exam in the country. To ensure fairness and transparency, over 2,200 faculty members from medical colleges and accredited hospitals were deployed.

NBEMS collaborated with state authorities to ensure smooth conduct of the exam. Letters were sent to Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police (DGPs) across all states to maintain law and order, cyber security, and uninterrupted power supply at all test centres. Local police and district administration also provided logistical support.

To prevent cyber fraud, NBEMS partnered with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Around 300 cyber commandos were deployed, especially at sensitive centres, to stop any malpractice. Additionally, 200 NBEMS officials monitored real-time CSTCTV feeds from all centres.

Senior officials, including Deans, Directors, and NBEMS governing body members, conducted on-site visits as part of the flying squads. Mobile signal jammers were installed at all centres to block unauthorized communication during the exam.
