The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the seat matrix for Round 3 of the NEET PG Counselling 2024, withdrawing 10 seats from the allocation process. This update follows a notification from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Navi Mumbai, which reduced seats across key specialties affecting multiple categories, including open, backward class, scheduled caste, and scheduled tribe.
Specialties Affected by Seat Withdrawal
The withdrawn seats are distributed across the following specialties:
- MD (General Medicine): 1 seat
- MS (General Surgery): 2 seats
- MD/MS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology): 4 seats
- MS (Orthopaedics): 1 seat
- MD (Paediatrics): 2 seats
These adjustments will be reflected in the updated seat matrix ahead of the Round 3 counselling process.
Previous Modifications
Earlier, on January 17, the MCC removed 23 seats and added 12 new seats to the Round 3 matrix. This latest revision includes significant reductions, with MD/MS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and MD (General Medicine) seeing the largest impact, accounting for 6 of the withdrawn seats.
Candidates are advised to consult the updated seat matrix to align their preferences and strategies accordingly. The MCC remains committed to maintaining a fair and transparent counselling process for NEET PG 2024.
