Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India, has officially announced that no Special Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted for NEET PG 2025-26 counselling. The decision was shared through an official notice issued on 30 March 2026.

According to the notice, MCC along with all State Counselling Authorities has already completed four rounds of online counselling for the Academic Session 2025-26. The entire counselling process concluded on 28 February 2026, which also remains the final deadline for NEET PG admissions across India.

Despite the completion of all counselling rounds, some postgraduate medical seats remain vacant in different colleges across the country. However, the authorities clarified that the necessary approval required to conduct a Special Stray Vacancy Round was not granted by the competent authority.
