NTA Will Launch Biometric Attendance System for NEET UG 2025!!
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will introduce biometric attendance for NEET-UG 2025 to strengthen exam security and prevent identity fraud. As over 25 lakh students are expected to appear for this highly competitive medical entrance exam, this initiative aims to streamline the examination process while ensuring fairness and transparency.
NEET UG 2025 Biometric Attendance
The biometric attendance system will record candidates’ presence using unique biological identifiers, including:
- Retina scans
- Fingerprints
- Facial recognition
This system will ensure that only registered candidates take the exam, minimizing impersonation fraud and improving the overall efficiency of the examination process.

Key Guidelines for Biometric Attendance
1. Registration Process
- Candidates' biometric data, such as fingerprints and facial recognition, will be collected during registration.
- The recorded data will be matched with details submitted in the application form.
- Only candidates whose biometric data matches will be permitted to enter the examination hall.
2. Exam Centre Verification
- Candidates must arrive early at their designated exam centres for biometric verification.
- Fingerprints will be matched with pre-recorded biometric data before entry.
- This process ensures that only legitimate candidates appear for the exam.
3. Post-Exam Verification
- Candidates may undergo biometric verification after completing the exam.
- Authorities will match post-exam biometric data with pre-exam records.
- Only after successful verification can candidates submit their answer sheets, preventing malpractice.
Significance of Biometric Attendance in NEET 2025
The implementation of biometric attendance will provide multiple benefits, including:
- Preventing fraud and impersonation: After reports of paper leaks and impersonation in NEET-UG 2024, biometric verification will ensure only genuine candidates appear for the exam.
- Enhancing security: This method offers a foolproof way to verify candidates' identities, replacing traditional paper-based attendance systems.
- Ensuring fairness and transparency: By eliminating unfair practices, biometric attendance upholds the integrity of the examination process.
- Enabling digital record-keeping: Authorities can digitally preserve biometric data for quick access and verification in case of disputes.
With NEET-UG serving as a crucial gateway for medical aspirants in India, this move marks a significant step toward a more secure and transparent examination system. If implemented, biometric attendance will be a major reform in NEET 2025, ensuring efficiency while eliminating fraudulent practices.
