NEET UG 2025 Latest News: NTA Confirms Exam Date and Mode

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that the NEET-UG 2025 exam will be conducted on 4th May 2025, in pen-and-paper mode (OMR-based). This confirmation comes as part of a public notice released on 16th January 2025, ensuring clarity on the mode, structure, and eligibility criteria for one of the most competitive entrance examinations in India.

Key Highlights from the Notification:

  1. Uniform NEET for Medical Education: As per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, NEET-UG 2025 will serve as the common and uniform entrance examination for undergraduate medical education across all medical institutions in India. The exam is mandatory for admissions into MBBS programs under this Act.

  2. Inclusion of Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy: The exam extends its scope to cover undergraduate courses in disciplines such as BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS under the Indian System of Medicine. Additionally, it will facilitate admissions to BHMS programs under the National Commission for Homeopathy.

  3. Eligibility for B.Sc. Nursing: Aspirants aiming to join the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for B.Sc. Nursing programs must also qualify for NEET-UG 2025. The NEET-UG score will be utilized for shortlisting candidates for the four-year nursing program conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals.

  4. Exam Mode and Structure: The NTA has reaffirmed that the NEET-UG 2025 exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode (OMR-based) in a single day and single shift, ensuring a fair and uniform assessment process nationwide.

The announcement marks a significant step toward streamlining the NEET-UG examination process, ensuring a unified standard for medical and allied education in India.
