Private Colleges Must Submit E-Bank Guarantee

NMC has directed all private medical colleges that have received approval for a new medical college or an increase in MBBS intake to submit an Electronic Bank Guarantee (E-Bank Guarantee) to MARB within seven days of the notification. The details must also be shared via the prescribed email addresses.

The Letter of Permission (LoP) will be issued only after the E-Bank Guarantee is received and verified by MARB.

Admissions Restricted to Approved Seat Intake

The Commission has instructed all medical colleges and counselling authorities to ensure that admissions are conducted strictly as per the approved seat matrix.

NMC has clarified that:

  • Counselling committees must not allow admissions beyond the approved number of seats.
  • Any discrepancy in the seat matrix should be reported to MARB before counselling begins.
  • Medical colleges should verify their approved seat details and immediately report any errors or omissions.
  • Admissions made beyond the sanctioned intake will be treated as a violation of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and may lead to regulatory and penal action against the institution.

Seat Matrix May Be Revised

NMC has also stated that the published seat matrix remains subject to revision based on the decisions of the Appeal Committee or any other competent authority. Any updated seat matrix will be published on the official NMC website and will be used by both Central and State counselling authorities during the admission process.
