National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice announcing the tentative number of seats available for Super-Specialty Postgraduate courses (DM and M.Ch) across medical colleges in India for the academic year 2025–26.

According to the notice, the seat matrix includes the number of seats available as of April 2, 2026, including those approved by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) before April 1, 2026.

The Commission has asked all medical colleges and institutions to review the seat details carefully and report any discrepancies within 15 days to the designated NMC email. If institutions fail to notify discrepancies within the given period, the seat information may be finalized for the admission process.

Another important update mentioned in the notice is that counselling authorities do not need to wait for Letters of Permission (LOPs) from institutions before including these seats in the counselling process. The uploaded seat matrix itself will be treated as a valid document for counselling purposes.

This move is expected to streamline the NEET SS counselling process, making it easier for authorities and institutions to begin admissions for specialized medical programs.
