The National Medical Commission (NMC), through its Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), has issued a corrigendum to the Guidelines on Assessment of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) for Admission to the MBBS Course, 2026.

The corrigendum partially modifies the public notice dated 27 July 2026 by revising Appendix-D, which relates to the Locomotor Disability Affidavit. According to the notice, all other provisions and references in the original guidelines remain unchanged.

The revised Appendix-D introduces a standardized affidavit format for candidates with locomotor disabilities affecting the lower extremities. Candidates are required to:

• Provide their disability details and UDID card information.
• Declare whether they use any assistive device or artificial limb.
• Self-certify their functional abilities, including:
  • Bearing weight on both legs.
  • Bearing weight on the affected leg.
  • Walking on plain surfaces.
  • Sitting independently.
  • Turning to the right and left.
• Affirm that they possess the essential competencies required to successfully undertake the MBBS course.
• Acknowledge that any false declaration may result in revocation of admission.

The corrigendum is intended to update the affidavit format while maintaining the rest of the PwBD admission framework without changes. It has been signed by Dr. Raghav Langer, Secretary, National Medical Commission and is addressed to all stakeholders involved in MBBS admissions for 2026.
