Notice on Maintenance of the National Medical Register

1. As per Section 31 (1) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board is responsible for maintaining a National Register. This register will include the names, addresses, and all recognized qualifications of licensed medical practitioners.

2. An Expert Committee, consisting of members from both the National Medical Commission (NMC) and State Medical Councils (SMCs), has been established by the NMC to oversee the maintenance of the National Medical Register (NMR).

3. In a recent meeting, the Expert Committee recommended that the existing data held by the NMC should be verified and updated in collaboration with the SMCs. The NMC plans to commence this task shortly.

4. Therefore, all Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) are advised to regularly check the NMC website and the relevant SMC websites for updates on this matter.
