Ministry of Education Entrusts CBI with Probe into Alleged Irregularities in NEET (UG) 2024

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET (UG) Examination on May 5, 2024, in OMR (pen and paper) mode. There have been reports of alleged irregularities, cheating, impersonation, and malpractices. To ensure transparency in the examination process, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has decided, after a review, to assign the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Additionally, the Central Government has enacted the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, to prevent unfair practices in public examinations and address related matters. The government is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of examinations and safeguarding students’ interests. It is emphasized that any individual or organization found involved in malpractice will face the strictest consequences.
