Founded in 1930, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, had its inaugural rector, S.D. Asfendiyarov. In 2001, the government designated it as a “national” university. For over 89 years, it has stood as one of Kazakhstan’s premier medical colleges for MBBS. The institution is also recognized as AKNMU Almaty.
