Bankura Sammilani Medical College is one of the most prestigious medical colleges in West Bengal. It Was established in 1956 by Bankura Sammilani Trust as part of the Swaraj movement against British rule. The college was taken over by the Government of West Bengal in 1961. It is popularly known as BSMC Bankura. It is affiliated with West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata and approved by the National Medical Commission.
