The Rajasthan NEET UG counselling board cancelled the MBBS admissions of 100 students at Pacific Medical College and Hospital after a court ordered the college to stop them from attending classes. These students had been admitted to newly allotted seats through NEET UG counselling 2024.
In accordance with the interim order issued by the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur, on November 5, 2024 (DB Special Appeal Writ No. 1032/2024), the state counselling board has cancelled the admissions of students who joined based on the single bench order. These students will not be permitted to attend classes at Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Bhilon Ka Bedla, Udaipur. The total number of MBBS seats at PMCH will remain capped at 150.
The counselling board stated that students seeking a refund of their one-year tuition fee can apply directly to the NEET UG 2024 chairman. The interim order by the Division Bench stayed the single-judge bench's decision, which allowed PMCH to increase its MBBS seat intake from 150 to 250. Admissions and joining against these additional seats were made conditional on the final decision of the appeal.
Students were allotted these seats in the stray vacancy round of Rajasthan NEET UG counselling 2024, with November 5 as the reporting deadline at the allotted college.
