NTA Extends NEET UG Refund Bank Details
NTA had earlier asked candidates to submit their bank account details for processing the refund of the examination fee after the cancellation of the NEET (UG) 2026 examination held on May 3, 2026.
After receiving complaints from candidates regarding mistakes in bank account numbers and IFSC codes, the agency reopened the correction facility. The latest notice provides candidates with a final opportunity to verify and update their details.
Why Is NTA Refunding the NEET UG 2026 Examination Fee?
The 03 May 2026 sitting of NEET (UG) 2026 was cancelled and NTA had subsequently assured all affected candidates that their examination fee would be refunded in full.
To process this refund smoothly, NTA first asked candidates through a notice dated 22 May 2026 to submit their bank account information on a dedicated section of the NEET portal, so that the amount could be transferred directly.
What Went Wrong — And Why the Window Reopened
After the initial submission phase, NTA received a number of complaints from candidates who said their bank account numbers or IFSC codes had been entered incorrectly.
To fix this, the agency reopened the correction facility through a notice issued on 25 June 2026, allowing affected candidates to go back and update their banking information.
However, since several candidates were still unable to complete the process or hadn't confirmed their details yet, NTA has now decided to extend this facility to all eligible candidates — not just those who had reported errors — giving everyone a final window to check, confirm, or edit their bank details.

| Candidates who have not submitted any bank details yet | Must submit bank details immediately, as this is the final window. |
Why This Notice Matters for NEET Aspirants
For thousands of NEET UG 2026 candidates awaiting their examination fee refund, this is a critical administrative step, not just a formality. Any mismatch or delay in submitting accurate bank details could hold up the refund process further.
Since NTA has explicitly stated this is the final opportunity, candidates who miss the 7 July deadline may face unnecessary delays in receiving their money back.
