NTA Prepared for Secure NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that it is fully prepared for the smooth, secure and fair conduct of the NEET (UG) 2026 Re-Examination, scheduled for 21 June 2026.

According to the official press release issued on 19 June 2026, the re-examination will take place in 551 cities across India and 14 international cities, covering more than 22.79 lakh candidates.

To ensure seamless conduct, NTA has deployed a large-scale administrative setup, including 674 City Coordinators, 6,669 Observers, centre superintendents, invigilators, district administrations, police forces and escort teams. Overall, more than 2 lakh personnel have been mobilized for exam operations.

For exam security, NTA has implemented a multi-layered monitoring framework, which includes:

  • Secure transportation of confidential exam materials under sealed protocols
  • GPS-enabled vehicles with police escort
  • CCTV surveillance across all examination centres
  • Mandatory frisking using metal detectors before entry
  • Aadhaar-based biometric authentication to prevent impersonation
  • Real-time centralized monitoring systems

The agency also stated that active monitoring of social media platforms is underway to prevent misinformation and malpractice. Complaints have already been filed with cybercrime authorities, including I4C, MHA and CBI, against individuals spreading false information.

NTA emphasized that these measures are aimed at ensuring a transparent, secure and fair examination process for all NEET aspirants.
