The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory regarding the biometric verification process for the NEET (UG) 2026 Re-Examination, scheduled to be held on 21 June 2026 at designated examination centres across India.

According to the notice, all candidates appearing for the re-examination must undergo mandatory biometric verification after the completion of the frisking process and before entering the examination hall. The verification will include fingerprint and facial recognition as part of the enhanced security measures.

NTA has also introduced an exception protocol for candidates whose biometric verification cannot be completed due to technical or genuine issues, including:

Study MBBS Abroad 2025-26, Fees 2 lakh Per Year.

  • Device hardware failure
  • Poor quality of biometric data
  • Connectivity failure with UIDAI servers
  • Physical inability to provide biometric data

Such candidates will be permitted to appear for the examination after submitting a written undertaking at the examination centre.

The agency further clarified that candidates will not be disturbed during the active examination period for biometric procedures. If required, biometric verification may be completed before the exam begins or after it ends.

The NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination will be conducted from 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM. Eligible PwD/PwBD candidates receiving compensatory time may continue their examination up to 06:20 PM.

NTA has advised all candidates to cooperate with examination officials and security staff during the biometric verification process. Any refusal to undergo verification without a valid reason may be considered a violation of examination guidelines.
