The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an official warning regarding the circulation of fake and digitally manipulated images claiming to be the “correct” OMR answer sheets of candidates who appeared for NEET UG 2026.

According to the NTA statement, several images of OMR answer sheets are being shared on social media to falsely support claims that candidates’ declared results are incorrect. The agency clarified that these circulated documents are not genuine OMR records issued by NTA.

NTA stated that the original OMR answer sheet of every candidate contains verified details, including the candidate’s Roll Number, Test Booklet Number, Answer Sheet Barcode, Serial Number, candidate’s name, parent’s name, signatures, and thumb impressions, along with signatures of invigilators. These records are securely maintained by NTA.

The testing agency further confirmed that the NEET UG 2026 results have been calculated accurately based on the official answer key and recorded OMR sheets. There is no discrepancy in the evaluation process.

NTA highlighted that the fake OMR images circulating online have been digitally altered. Changes found in such fake documents include:

• Addition of extra response markings
• Alteration of candidate details
• Modification of signatures or other information

The agency warned that creating, sharing, or circulating fabricated OMR sheets is a punishable offence under relevant laws, including the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Candidates with genuine concerns regarding their NEET UG 2026 records are advised to follow the official grievance process available on the NTA website and avoid relying on unverified social media claims.
