Punjab NEET UG 2026 Tentative MBBS & BDS Seat Matrix Released
Chandigarh: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has released the tentative seat matrix for Punjab NEET UG 2026 MBBS and BDS admissions, providing aspirants with an early overview of seat availability across government, private and minority medical and dental colleges in the state.
As per the admission prospectus, the seat matrix is provisional and may be revised during counselling based on government notifications, statutory approvals, college affiliation status, reservation policies, and directions issued by the competent authority.
MBBS Seats
Punjab offers approximately 1,800 MBBS seats across government, private and minority medical colleges.
- Government Medical Colleges: 900 seats
- Government Medical College, Amritsar – 250
- Government Medical College, Patiala – 250
- Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot – 250
- Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical Institute of Sciences, Mohali – 100
- ESIC Medical College, Ludhiana – 50
Out of the government intake, 134 seats are under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ), while 741 seats fall under the State Quota, distributed among Open, SC, BC, EWS, NRI, PwD, Sports, Defence and other reserved categories.
Private medical colleges collectively contribute around 650 seats, while Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research and Christian Medical College, Ludhiana together add 250 minority institution seats, taking the total MBBS intake to around 1,800 seats.
BDS Seats
Punjab has approximately 1,490 BDS seats across government, private and minority dental colleges.
- Government Dental Colleges: 100 seats
- Private Dental Colleges: Around 1,250 seats
- Minority Dental Institutions: Around 140 seats
Together, these bring the total BDS intake to nearly 1,490 seats.
Combined Intake
The tentative seat matrix indicates that Punjab will offer more than 3,290 MBBS and BDS seats for the 2026-27 academic session, subject to final approval before counselling.

- Category-wise seat distribution will be published before each counselling round.
