Rajasthan NEET PG 2025-26 Service Bond Amounts: ₹25 Lakh to ₹1.5 Crore
The Directorate of Medical Education, Rajasthan, has issued fresh directions on the service bond for postgraduate candidates in broad specialty departments. The order covers all government and RAJMES-run medical colleges in the state from session 2025-26. It is effective immediately and partially modifies the department’s earlier letter on the matter.
The order is addressed to the Chairman of the NEET PG Counselling Board 2025, Jaipur. It is issued by Mukesh Kumar Meena, Additional Director (Administration) and ex-officio Joint Secretary, and carries the approval of the competent authority.
Highlights of the Order
- Four bond slabs apply: ₹1.5 crore, ₹1 crore, ₹50 lakh and ₹25 lakh.
- The slab is decided by the specialty a candidate is allotted.
- It applies to government and RAJMES-run medical colleges.
- It applies from session 2025-26 onwards.
- Principals and Controllers of all such colleges have been told to ensure compliance.
Which Specialty Falls in Which Slab
₹1.5 crore (highest slab): MD Dermatology (Skin & VD), MD Radio-diagnosis, MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology and MD General Medicine.
₹1 crore: MS Orthopaedics, MD Paediatrics, MD TB and Chest, MS Ophthalmology, MS Traumatology, MS General Surgery and MD Psychiatry.
₹50 lakh: MS ENT (Otorhinolaryngology), MS Emergency Medicine, MD Radiation Oncology/Radiotherapy, MD Nuclear Medicine, MD Anaesthesia, MD Palliative Medicine, MD Pathology, MD Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, MD Immunohematology/IBHT/Transfusion Medicine and MD Microbiology.

What the Bond Format Requires
The service bond for non-service candidates must be executed on stamp paper of at least ₹500. Its main terms are:
- Service period: Two years of service after the course. This can be on a Senior Residency seat or on a post such as Assistant Professor, Junior Specialist or Medical Officer, as the Government decides.
- Posting: The candidate may be asked to serve on different types of posts or seats during these two years. Pay will be as prescribed by the Government.
- Original documents: Original certificates, the bachelor’s degree and the postgraduate degree must be deposited at admission. The college keeps them until the bond is discharged.
- Default: If the candidate does not serve, the candidate and the surety are jointly and severally liable. The Government can recover the amount as arrears of land revenue.
The format also needs the signature of the candidate, the surety and two witnesses. The bond amount field is left blank in the format.
Surety Bond at the Time of Reporting
Candidates must submit a surety bond when they report to the college. It applies if a student:
- does not join the allotted institution by the stipulated date,
- leaves the PG course before it is complete, or
- has the admission cancelled for unsatisfactory performance, misconduct or indiscipline.
The format provided shows ₹10 lakh, which includes a ₹1.5 lakh bank guarantee. The remaining ₹8.5 lakh is covered by the surety bond. Two sureties must sign, and the student also executes a personal bond. The bank guarantee and surety bond are to be given at the time of joining.
The order’s slab amounts are much higher than the ₹10 lakh in this format, and the documents do not explain how the two relate. Candidates should confirm the exact amount with their allotted college.
Rules for In-Service Candidates
A separate format applies to in-service candidates in the state quota for PG, super specialty and DM/MCh courses:
- Stamp paper of at least ₹500 is needed.
- The bond amount shown is ₹80 lakh.
- The candidate must serve the Government for at least five years after completing the course, if the Government desires.
- On default, the surety is jointly and separately liable for the ₹80 lakh penalty.
- One surety and two witnesses are required.
The text of this format still mentions academic year 2024-2025. In-service candidates should check with their college whether a revised version is in use.
