Tamil Nadu BDS Stray Round 2026 Schedule for the 7.5% Government School Quota has been released! Eligible candidates should check the important dates and complete counselling formalities on time.

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DME), Chennai, has released the tentative schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round counselling for BDS courses in Government Dental Colleges for the 2026-27 session. This round is only for the 7.5% seat reservation for Tamil Nadu Government school students.

Special Stray Vacancy Round Schedule

Registration, choice filling and locking: 04-11-2026, 12:00 noon to 10-11-2026, 5:00 PM
Processing of seat allotment: 11-11-2026
Declaration of result: 11-11-2026, afternoon session
Downloading the provisional allotment order: 12-11-2026 to 16-11-2026, till 12:00 noon
Last date of reporting: on or before 16-11-2026, 5:00 PM

Downloading the allotment order is considered as joining.

Rank and Mark Range Eligible

General rank: GR 001 to GR 3625
NEET mark range: 599 to 177
Only MBC/DNC candidates in this rank range can take part in this round.

Eligibility

Only candidates who do not hold any MBBS or BDS seat in the All India Quota or State Quota can take part in this online counselling.
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 3 or the Stray Round are not eligible for any special stray vacancy round.

General Instructions

No processing fee, security deposit or tuition fee is applicable for the 7.5% special reservation for Tamil Nadu Government school students.
Candidates should choose only the colleges they prefer.
Choices can be edited any number of times before locking. Once locked, they cannot be edited.
If a candidate does not lock choices by the last date (10-11-2026, 5:00 PM), the choices will be locked automatically.
The vacancy position for the course will be available on the official website.
The Selection Committee does not take responsibility for any connectivity error.
Candidates should not share their login ID, password and OTP with others.

Instructions for Allotted Candidates

A candidate allotted a seat in this round must join the allotted college.
The provisional allotment order must be downloaded and the candidate must join the concerned dental college or institution on or before the date and time given in the order.
Candidates who fail to join or discontinue the course must pay the discontinuation fee. They will also not be able to take part in Tamil Nadu UG medical counselling for the next one academic year.
Downloading the allotment order counts as joining the seat. Candidates must still report to the institution within the reporting time. Failure to report is treated as discontinuation, and the discontinuation fee applies as per Clause 20.

Reporting to the Allotted College

Certificate verification will be done in the selected colleges.
Candidates must produce their original certificates in person at the time of joining, along with scanned copies of the originals.
If a candidate does not report on or before the stated date and time, the selection or admission will be cancelled without further notice.
Selected candidates must give a self-declaration at the time of reporting. It states that they are liable to forfeiture of selection or admission if suppression of facts or misrepresentation is found, during or after admission.
The Selection Committee will not contact candidates individually. Candidates should regularly check the official website www.tnmedicalselection.org for the schedule, results, notices and updates.
