Tamil Nadu NEET PG Counselling 2026 registration is open till 15 October. Eligible candidates should complete the registration process before the deadline to participate in counselling.

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu has started the online application process for Tamil Nadu NEET PG counselling 2026. Candidates can apply at tnmedicalselection.net from 12 noon on 9 October 2026, and the last date is 15 October 2026 at 5:00 PM (server time). The committee has said there will be no extension.

What the counselling covers

  • MD, MS and PG Diploma seats in government medical colleges
  • Government-quota seats in self-financing medical colleges affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University
  • Application is online only

Important dates

  • Application start: 9 October 2026, 12:00 noon
  • Application last date: 15 October 2026, 5:00 PM (server time)
  • Rank list, counselling rounds and course commencement: to be notified

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must have qualified NEET PG 2026. The minimum qualifying marks are:

  • General: 50th percentile, score 262
  • SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile, score 226
  • General PwD: 45th percentile, score 244

Other conditions:

Study MBBS Abroad 2025-26, Fees 2 lakh Per Year.

  • MBBS degree with the compulsory internship completed by the cut-off date given in the prospectus
  • Registration with the NMC or a State Medical Council
  • Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, if the MBBS is from outside Tamil Nadu
  • Candidates currently pursuing a PG degree, diploma or DNB course cannot apply
  • Candidates who have already completed a PG degree or DNB cannot apply
  • Diploma holders can apply for degree courses only
  • In-service doctors need two years of continuous service as on 31 March 2026, with service particulars certified by the forwarding authority

Fees to pay

  • Application fee: ₹3,000 (non-refundable), payable while applying
  • Registration fee: ₹1,000 (non-refundable), payable at counselling registration
  • Security deposit for government colleges: ₹30,000, payable after seat allotment
  • Security deposit for self-financing colleges (government quota): ₹1,00,000, payable after seat allotment
  • SC/ST (including Arunthathiyar) candidates who are Tamil Nadu natives are exempt from the application fee
  • Payment is online only, by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI
  • A deduction from the bank account is not proof of payment, so candidates should confirm on the portal that the payment went through

Documents required

Following a High Court order, all documents must be uploaded with the online application. The committee has said incomplete applications or unclear documents will be rejected without reconsideration.

  • NEET PG 2026 scorecard and admit card
  • MBBS degree, diploma or provisional pass certificate
  • CRRI/CRMI completion certificate
  • NMC or State Medical Council registration certificate
  • Community and nativity certificates, if applicable
  • Aadhaar card, plus a passport, voter ID or driving licence
  • Parent’s Aadhaar card and school certificates
  • PwD medical certificate dated within three months, if applicable
  • Eligibility Certificate, if the MBBS is from outside Tamil Nadu
  • Service particulars certified by the forwarding authority, for in-service candidates
  • The same photograph used for NEET PG 2026

Counselling rounds

  • Round 1: registration, choice locking and seat allotment
  • Round 2: re-allotment for those who joined in Round 1
  • Round 3: remaining vacancies are filled
  • Stray Round: final round for candidates not allotted a seat earlier

Penalty for leaving after the resignation period

  • Candidates who join and leave after the resignation period must pay a penalty of ₹10 lakh for diploma courses
  • The penalty for degree courses is ₹15 lakh
  • All admissions and resignations are online only

Points to remember

  • No changes are allowed once the application is submitted
  • Candidates who use an agent remain responsible for the details filled in
  • Claiming Tamil Nadu nativity while holding nativity of another state can lead to legal action
  • Candidates should check the official website regularly for the rank list and counselling dates
  • State counselling comes alongside the MCC All India Quota counselling, whose Round 1 registration runs from 12 to 21 October 2026
