Tamil Nadu has added 250 newly approved MBBS seats across three medical colleges to the ongoing NEET UG 2026 Round 2 counselling, allowing eligible candidates to modify and add their choices.

Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Counselling Adds 250 New MBBS Seats

The Tamil Nadu Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education and Research, has announced the inclusion of 250 additional MBBS seats in the ongoing Round 2 online counselling for MBBS/BDS degree courses for the 2026-27 academic session.

The notification, dated September 9, 2026, states that the Selection Committee has received the required regulatory approvals, including Letters of Permission from the competent authorities, the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the concerned university for the additional MBBS seats.

Candidates Allowed to Modify Choices

All eligible candidates participating in Round 2 counselling, including those who have already submitted their choices, have been permitted to edit, reorder and add choices for the newly included medical colleges.

Study MBBS Abroad 2025-26, Fees 2 lakh Per Year.

Seat allotment will be carried out based on the candidate's NEET UG 2026 State Rank, Communal Reservation and preference choices.

Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the official Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee website for counselling schedule revisions and updates.
