Tamil Nadu Tentative MBBS & BDS Vacancy List Released

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Tamil Nadu, has released the Tentative Vacancy List for MBBS and BDS Degree Courses for the academic year 2026–27. The vacancy position has been updated as of August 24, 2026 and includes seat availability across government, private, self-financing, ESIC and other participating institutions.

The vacancy list provides candidates with a college-wise and category-wise breakdown of available seats under different admission quotas, including Government Quota, Management Quota, Minority Quota, NRI Quota and other applicable categories.

Tamil Nadu MBBS 2026-27 Vacancy Details

Government Medical Colleges

The tentative vacancy list covers 36 Government Medical Colleges across Tamil Nadu, including prominent institutions such as Madras Medical College, Stanley Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Coimbatore Medical College, and Tirunelveli Medical College.

Study MBBS Abroad 2025-26, Fees 2 lakh Per Year.

Together, these government medical colleges account for 3,919 MBBS seats under the Government Quota.

ESIC Medical College

The ESI-PGIMSR, ESI Hospital, K.K. Nagar, Chennai, has 90 MBBS seats available under the Government Quota.

Self-Financing Medical Colleges

A total of 20 self-financing medical colleges are included in the vacancy list. These include institutions such as PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Christian Medical College, SRM Medical College, and Panimalar Medical College Hospital & Research Institute.

Collectively, these institutions account for 3,350 MBBS seats distributed across Government Quota, Management Quota, Minority Quota, and NRI Quota.

Private Medical Colleges

The vacancy list also includes three private medical colleges:

  • Sri Venkateswaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Chennai
  • Kanyakumari Medical Mission Research Center
  • Takshashila Medical College, Tindivanam

Together, these colleges have 575 MBBS seats.

IRT Ward Quota

Under the IRT Ward Quota, Government Erode Medical College & Hospital, Perundurai, has 30 MBBS seats allotted.

Tamil Nadu BDS 2026-27 Vacancy Details

Government Dental Colleges

Three government dental colleges are included in the list:

  • Tamil Nadu Government Dental College & Hospital, Chennai
  • Government Dental College, Pudukkottai
  • Government Dental College and Hospital, Cuddalore

Together, these institutions offer 194 BDS seats under the Government Quota.

Self-Financing Dental Colleges

The vacancy list covers 18 self-financing dental colleges, including Ragas Dental College & Hospital, Sri Ramakrishna Dental College & Hospital, and Chettinad Dental College & Research Institute.

These colleges collectively offer 1,662 BDS seats under various quotas, including Government, Management, Minority and NRI Quotas.
