The Department of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh, has released the Round 1 seat matrix for UP NEET PG Counselling 2026 for MD/MS (Medical) courses. The matrix was approved on 24 October 2026 at 10:54 AM and lists seats in government and private medical colleges across the state. Candidates can use it to plan their choice filling for the first round.

• Total seats: 3,961 across 71 institutes
• Government seats: 1,095
• Private seats: 2,866, all in the UR (open) category

Category-wise Seat Distribution

The grand total of 3,961 seats is divided as follows:

• UR: 3,304 seats, of which 3,282 are open (OP) and 22 are for PH candidates
• BC: 291 seats
• SC: 226 seats
• EWS (EW): 110 seats
• ST: 22 seats
• BS: 5 seats
• SS: 3 seats

All private-college seats fall under the UR open category. Reserved-category seats (BC, SC, ST and EWS) are in government institutions only.

The matrix includes MD and MS seats in anaesthesia, anatomy, biochemistry, community medicine, dermatology, ENT, forensic medicine, general medicine, general surgery, microbiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, pathology, pharmacology, physiology, psychiatry, radiodiagnosis and respiratory medicine. Some colleges also offer emergency medicine, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, immunohaematology and blood transfusion, and hospital administration. A few government colleges list diploma seats such as DCH, DGO, D.Ortho, DLO, DA, DVD and DMRD.
