UP NEET UG Round 1 Choice Filling Guideline Released

Lucknow, September 3, 2026: The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has issued important guidelines for UP NEET UG 2026 Round 1 choice filling and the admission process. The notice provides key instructions for candidates participating in counselling for MBBS and BDS seats in government and private medical/dental colleges across the state.

Key Guidelines for UP NEET UG 2026 Counselling

According to the official notice, only candidates who have been declared successful in the NEET UG 2026 entrance examination are eligible to participate in UP NEET UG counselling. Candidates whose security deposit has been submitted and whose documents have been verified will be eligible for choice filling.

Candidates have been advised to fill their choices strictly according to their priority and preference. They should select only those colleges where they are genuinely willing to take admission.

Choice Locking is Mandatory

One of the major instructions is that choice locking after online choice filling is mandatory. Candidates who fail to lock their choices will automatically be excluded from the seat allotment process.

Once choices are locked, no modification or change will be permitted. The Directorate will also not consider applications requesting changes to locked choices.

Admission Process After Seat Allotment

For candidates allotted seats in government medical and dental colleges, the admission process will be completed at the respective allotted college.

For candidates allotted seats in private medical and dental colleges, the admission process will be conducted at the designated government-nominated nodal centres. The list of nodal centres has been provided in the UP NEET UG 2026 brochure.

Candidates allotted seats in private colleges must also ensure that the applicable tuition fee is paid through the prescribed process. The fee-related government orders for minority and non-minority private medical/dental colleges are available on the official websites of UP NEET UG counselling and DGME Uttar Pradesh.

Fee Payment Instructions

The notice states that candidates allotted seats in private medical/dental colleges must prepare the required RTGS/NEFT bank draft payable at Lucknow in favour of:

Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P. Payable at Lucknow

The prescribed fee must be deposited at the designated nodal centre at the time of admission. Failure to complete the required payment process may result in the admission being treated as cancelled.
