UP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Revised Schedule Released, Reservation Rules Clarified for MBBS/BDS Admissions

The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has issued two important updates regarding UP NEET UG 2026 counselling. The authority has released a revised schedule for Round 2 online counselling and also clarified the implementation of reservation provisions for MBBS/BDS admissions in the state.

The reservation-related notice dated September 19 states that the revised reservation arrangement will apply to admissions in Uttar Pradesh educational institutions in accordance with the applicable legal framework. It also addresses the treatment of candidates who have already secured admission and the position of four government medical colleges. 

UP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Revised Schedule

According to the revised counselling schedule issued on September 20, 2026, the Round 2 process will proceed as follows:

Study MBBS Abroad 2025-26, Fees 2 lakh Per Year.

Candidates will be allotted seats in Round 2 based on the Round 2 merit list. Other applicable rules and conditions for the counselling round will remain unchanged.

Reservation Rules Clarified

In a separate communication dated September 19, 2026, the Uttar Pradesh government clarified the implementation of reservation provisions in UP NEET UG counselling.

The notice states that candidates who have already taken admission in government/private medical colleges during the 2026–27 academic session will have their existing admission maintained.

It also refers to ongoing legal proceedings concerning the reservation framework and states that the matter is being taken before the Supreme Court of India through a Special Leave Petition.

Special Provision for Four Government Medical Colleges

For the 2026–27 academic session, the notice specifically identifies four government medical colleges:

  • Ambedkar Nagar
  • Kannauj
  • Jalaun
  • Saharanpur

The notice says the earlier reservation arrangement under the relevant special scheme will continue for these four colleges until a decision is received in the proposed Special Leave Petition. The counselling/admission of students to these colleges will remain subject to the final decision of the court.

The government communication further notes that the increase in MBBS seats in government/private medical colleges has been approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi.
