UP NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Important Guidelines Out: The official guidelines for UP NEET UG 2026 counselling have been released. Candidates should review the key instructions carefully before registration, choice filling and admission.
The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, has issued important guidelines for the third round of online counselling under UP NEET UG 2026. The notice is dated 27 October 2026.
Eligibility and Security Money
- Seat allotment in Round 3 will be based on the Round 3 merit list.
- Candidates who were not allotted a seat in Round 1 or Round 2, and candidates who took admission in those rounds, do not need to deposit security money again to take part in Round 3.
- Candidates not allotted a seat in Round 2 who did not take admission, or who resigned after admission, will forfeit the entire security money deposited earlier. If they want to take part in Round 3, they must deposit security money again.
- Only candidates who deposited the registration security money by the stated date and time, and whose documents have been verified online, are eligible for choice filling.
Choice Filling and Locking
- Choice filling is online, in order of preference, for seats in government and private medical/dental colleges. Candidates should fill choices only for colleges where they are willing to take admission. There is no limit on the number of choices.
- In Round 3, vacant, not reported and resigned seats from Round 2 will be shown as clear-cut vacancy.
- Seat Against Cancellation (SAC) seats will also be shown. These are virtual vacancies: if an already admitted candidate’s seat is upgraded, that seat is allotted to another candidate on merit-cum-option basis.
- Along with vacant seats of their own category, candidates will also see seats of other reserved categories. If a reserved category seat remains vacant at allotment, it will be merged as per the table in the Government Order dated 1 September 2026.
- Choice locking is mandatory. Candidates who do not lock their choices will not be included in seat allotment, and the responsibility lies with the candidate.
- No change can be made after choices are locked, and no request in this regard will be considered by the Directorate.
Reallotment Rules
- If a candidate is allotted another seat according to the options given for reallotment, the earlier seat becomes vacant and is allotted to someone else. If there is no reallotment, the earlier admitted seat stays as it was.
- Candidates must ensure that they fill other choices leaving out the option of the seat they have already been admitted to. Otherwise, if that earlier seat is allotted again, the candidate must go to the nodal centre and complete the admission process as before.
Admission, Fees and Forfeiture Rules
- Taking admission on the seat allotted in Round 3 is compulsory for government and private medical/dental colleges. Otherwise, the entire security money is forfeited.
- Government colleges: Candidates admitted in Round 1 or 2 who do not take admission after reallotment in Round 3 will forfeit the entire security money and all fees deposited at that time.
- Private colleges: Candidates admitted in Round 1 or 2 who do not take admission after reallotment in Round 3 will forfeit the entire security money and 50% of the tuition fee deposited at that time.
- After Round 3 allotment, candidates allotted seats in government colleges must complete admission at the concerned dental college or university. Candidates allotted seats in private colleges must complete admission at the concerned nodal centre.
- Candidates allotted private medical/dental seats must submit the government-fixed tuition fee as a CTS bank draft in favour of “Director General Medical Education & Training U.P., payable at Lucknow” at the nodal centre. Otherwise, the admission is automatically treated as cancelled. The fee structure is available on https://upneet.gov.in and www.dgme.up.gov.in.
- Allotted candidates must undergo a medical examination by the medical board at the medical/dental college or nodal centre. Candidates who already did so in Round 1 or 2 do not need to repeat it.
- After completing admission at the nodal centre, all candidates must report to the concerned medical/dental college.
Other Instructions
- All counselling rounds will be conducted as per the Government Order dated 1 September 2026 and the information brochure. Candidates should read both before taking part.
- Candidates should keep checking https://upneet.gov.in and www.dgme.up.gov.in for all updates.
