Dehradun, September 24, 2026: Uttarakhand Ayurved University (UAU) has issued an official circular (No. 1860/UAU/Counselling/2026-27) directing all affiliated Ayurveda colleges to strictly verify the certificates and category/sub-category eligibility of candidates allotted seats in the BAMS UG Round 1 counseling.

According to the letter signed by Registrar Dr. Shivkumar Barnwal, Round 1 counseling for the BAMS course commenced on September 24, 2026. The university has also announced the schedule for subsequent rounds:

• Round 2 (Online Counseling): October 18, 2026 - November 2, 2026
• Mop-Up Round: November 6, 2026 - November 22, 2026

Key Directives to Colleges

The circular emphasizes that seat allotment under various categories/sub-categories will be done as per counseling board norms and available seats. It instructs colleges to:

1. Thoroughly examine and verify the original certificates and documents of candidates admitted under any category or sub-category.
2. Ensure certificates are issued by a competent authority, are valid, and comply with prescribed rules before finalizing admission — even where a seat has been provisionally allotted on a provisional basis.
3. Immediately report to the university if there is any doubt or ambiguity regarding a candidate's certificate validity, category, or eligibility, rather than proceeding independently.
4. Securely preserve records of candidates found fully eligible after verification.

Accountability Clause

The university has made it clear that colleges and principals will be held directly responsible if admissions are granted without proper certificate verification or in violation of prescribed norms, and appropriate legal/administrative action will be initiated in such cases.

The directive has been sent to campus directors and principals of institutions including Rishikul Campus (Haridwar), Gurukul Campus (Haridwar), Faculty of Ayurveda (Dehradun), Doon Institute of Ayurveda, Surajmal Medical College, Kaya Ayurvedic College, Shivalik Institute, Uttaranchal Medical College, Dev Bhoomi Medical College, Patanjali Bhartiya Ayurvigyan Evam Anusandhan Sansthan, Quadra Institute of Ayurveda, Himalayiya Ayurvedic Medical College, Beehive Ayurved Medical College, Motherhood Ayurveda Medical College, Coer Medical College, and Aroma Ayurvedic Medical College, among others.
