WB NEET PG Counselling 2026 Admission Notice is out! Candidates should review the latest guidelines and stay updated on important counselling and admission procedures.

The Directorate of Medical Education, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, has issued a notice on the admission process for WB PG Medical Counselling 2026. The notice (Memo No. HFW-23099/320/2026/M/3851) is dated 2 November 2026 and was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Indrajit Saha, Director of Medical Education and Chairman of the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC).

Allotment letter and reporting

  • After the provisional allotment result is published, successful candidates can generate their individual allotment letter from the counselling website through their own login. This is available until the admission schedule of that round closes, as per the counselling schedule dated 14 October 2026 (Memo No. HFW-23099/320/2026/M/3791).
  • Candidates must attend the allotted college within the admission schedule on the scheduled dates, as per server time. Private medical colleges are an exception, and their venues are listed below.
  • Candidates must carry all required original documents with one set of self-attested photocopies, as stated in the Notice cum Information Bulletin dated 14 October 2026 (Memo No. HFW-23099/320/2026/M/3790).
  • They must also bring the successfully verified slip and the allotment letter (one original and one self-attested photocopy), along with 4 copies of a recent passport-size photograph.

Undertaking and documents retained by the college

  • Candidates must give an undertaking that they are not currently admitted anywhere through AIQ or state quota counselling held in 2026 or earlier.
  • The college must mandatorily keep these original documents and give the candidate a receipt: NEET PG 2026 admit card and rank card, original final MBBS marksheet, MBBS degree or provisional degree certificate, Permanent Registration certificate, the PwD verified certificate (from NRS Medical College, Kolkata or an MCC-designated centre, if applicable), proof of any previous degree or diploma, and the successfully verified slip.
  • The caste certificate and ID cards need not be kept by the admitting institute.

Fee and bond

  • Candidates must pay the requisite fee to the college if they do not want an upgradation in Round 2 or Round 3.
  • Government colleges in West Bengal: a discontinuation bond of Rs 5 lakh for degree seats and Rs 2 lakh for diploma seats. The bond must be notarised on non-judicial stamp paper of not less than Rs 100.
  • Private, trust or central institutes: the bond or bank guarantee as required by the college, with preference given to the candidate’s choice of bond or bank guarantee.
  • Candidates opting for upgradation may defer the bond or bank guarantee for the current round. They must still pay the required course fee during admission by Round 3 at the latest, or in the last hour of the Round 3 admission process.

Willingness and upgradation

  • Candidates must submit their willingness for participation online during admission at the allotted college. The option for Round 2 and Round 3 is available to all candidates allotted in Round 1.
  • A candidate who gets a new college after further rounds can take back all fees paid at the previous college. They must also collect their original documents and the server-generated relieving letter, and then join the new college within the schedule.
  • A candidate who does not report in Round 1 becomes a “not reported” candidate, but can still fill choices afresh in Round 2. Candidates not allotted a seat in Round 1 can also do so.
  • A candidate who surrenders after admission is out of the counselling process.
  • A candidate who does not give willingness for later rounds cannot fill choices and keeps the Round 1 seat. A candidate who gives willingness and fills choices but gets no fresh allotment also keeps the Round 1 seat.
  • After a successful upgradation, the earlier admitted seat is cancelled automatically. The candidate cannot keep it.
  • Even after verification at the pre-choice-filling stage, there will be a final physical document verification at the allotted college.

Reservation and PwD certificate rules

  • SC, ST, OBC or EWS candidate allotted an unreserved seat (having secured the unreserved cut-off): if the candidate cannot produce the caste certificate, admission is still granted, but the candidature is edited to unreserved in the NIC software. The candidate can then seek upgradation as an unreserved candidate if they wish.
  • SC, ST, OBC or EWS candidate allotted a reserved seat without a valid certificate: the candidature is edited to unreserved and the seat is cancelled for that round by the college. If the candidate has the unreserved cut-off, they can take part in later rounds as unreserved. Otherwise they are out of counselling.
  • PwD candidate allotted a non-PwD seat who cannot give the PwD certificate from NRS Medical College, Kolkata or an MCC-authenticated centre: admission is granted, but the candidature is changed to non-PwD, so the candidate can seek upgradation in Round 2 as a non-PwD candidate.
  • PwD candidate allotted a PwD seat without a valid certificate: the candidature is changed to non-PwD and the seat is cancelled for that round. If the candidate is otherwise eligible as non-PwD, they can take part in later rounds. Otherwise they are out of counselling.

Admission through the NIC server and seat surrender

  • All admissions must be completed through the NIC server within the admission schedule. Candidates must also get one copy of the server-generated admission or cancellation letter. Without it, the admission is not considered and the seat becomes vacant in the next round.
  • A candidate who is not satisfied with the seat after admission must personally appear before the college authority for surrender or resignation, strictly as per the seat surrender schedule on the counselling website. This is allowed only till Round 2. A slip must also be generated through the NIC server by the college. Otherwise the surrender is not acceptable and the seat will not appear as vacant in the next round.

Admission desks for private medical colleges in Kolkata

  • NRS Medical College, Kolkata: for admission to SRIMS and Sanaka Hospital

  • Follow the official WB counselling website for the dates of each round and the seat surrender schedule.
