Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Navi Mumbai is a government postgraduate medical institute established through a Government Resolution on 27 September 2024 under the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) to expand advanced medical training in the city. It operates through the clinical units of General Hospital, Vashi and Maasaheb Meenatai Thakeray Hospital, Nerul, two major public hospitals that serve patients from Navi Mumbai and neighbouring districts. The institute is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik and has begun offering MD and MS postgraduate courses in key clinical specialties like General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics, with plans to introduce more clinical and para-clinical programs as it develops further.
