Kyrgyz National Agrarian University was founded in 1933 as the Zooveterinary Institute to train specialists in agriculture. It was renamed the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute in 1938 and later expanded with new faculties like agronomy, agricultural mechanization, and economics. Over the years, it has trained more than 60,000 professionals, including famous figures like writer Ch. Aitmatov. In 2009, it was awarded "National" status. Today, it is one of the top universities in Kyrgyzstan, providing education and research in agriculture and related fields.
