These unofficial rules, they argue, restrict women's freedom and perpetuate outdated notions rather than ensuring safety. According to the students, representatives were being coerced into submitting a letter agreeing to these rules, despite no official publication of such regulations. Addressing these concerns, all female undergraduate hostel residents recently wrote to the Chairperson of the Hostel Committee, the Director, and the Medical Superintendent of ABVIMS & RML Hospital. Highlighting the gender disparity, the students emphasized the absence of an active measure to implement a uniform code of conduct for all undergraduate students.
