Documents Required for MBBS/BDS Admission in Tamil Nadu
The state selection committee has released a list of 14 documents required for admission to undergraduate medical (MBBS) and dental (BDS) courses in Tamil Nadu. While students await the National Testing Agency (NTA) to announce the NEET-2024 results for the third time, the state selection committee advises those seeking state quota seats in government colleges and self-financing colleges under government, management, or NRI quotas to prepare the necessary documents.
Selection committee officials noted that the window for students to download and submit forms along with the required documents might be brief.
Candidates are instructed to have the following documents ready:
1. NEET-UG 2024 Admit card and Score card.
2. Class X Mark Sheet (both sides of Certificate).
3. Class XI Mark Sheet (both sides of Certificate).
4. H.S.C. Mark sheet (both sides of Mark Sheet) or any other equivalent examination.
5. Transfer certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or equivalent courses.
6. Certificate for proof of study from VI Std. to XII Std. for the candidates who have studied completely in Tamil Nadu.
7. Community Certificate.
8. Nativity certificate (if applicable).
9. Documents of Parent need to be uploaded for the candidate who claims their native as Tamil Nadu for communal reservation:
- a) Community Certificate of either one of the parents obtained from the competent Revenue Authority in Tamil Nadu.
10. Bonafide Certificate from Chief Educational Officer is mandatory to the candidates who have studied VI Std. to XII Std. in Tamil Nadu Government Schools for 7.5% Special Reservation (students who completed HSC in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 need not get the bonafide certificates as their data will be verified with EMIS).
11. Income Certificate of parent for the candidates claiming fee exemption.
12. Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai for the candidate of other Universities/Boards (except Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE Board & ISCE Board).
13. Court orders (if any).
Students applying for the 7.5% reservation quota need a bonafide certificate from the CEO (not required for those who graduated in 2023 and 2024). Those claiming fee exemption must submit their parents’ income certificate. An eligibility certificate from TN Dr. MGR Medical University is required for candidates from other boards (excluding TN/CBSE/ICSE) or universities. Additionally, a community certificate from either parent, issued by a competent revenue authority, is needed.
Candidates must also provide court documents and any additional documents, if applicable. Students claiming seats under the management quota for Christianity and linguistic minorities (Telugu and Malayalam) must submit the relevant certificates. NRI candidates need to provide the NRI status of their financial supporter issued by the Indian embassy of the respective country, a certificate of relationship between the NRI financial supporter and the candidate, and a valid Indian passport of the NRI financial supporter.
